High-tech seed treatment
for high-yield harvests

SOYBEANS

In this STIWA machine, developed and built in collaboration with Ensemo GmbH, soybeans are mechanically opened, treated, and resealed. Using highly advanced technological processes, the seed is protected from harmful environmental influences.

The individual seeds are mechanically opened at high throughput. Useful microorganisms are then injected. The seeds are resealed with biodegradable material. The technology used is patent-protected and can replace treatment with chemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides.

SEPARATION IN THE PROCESS

In this sophisticated process, the seeds are separated into special pockets. Only one soybean should be sorted at a time so that it can be processed optimally. The different sizes of the beans pose a challenge, which STIWA has solved optimally.

SENSITIVE PROCESSING PRESERVES GERMINATION CAPACITY

The beans are first stretched, then slit open with saw blades, taking care not to damage the embryo, as this would render the bean unproductive. After the microorganisms have been introduced, the bean is immediately resealed.

20,000 INOCULATED SEEDS PER MINUTE

Around 300 soybeans are inoculated simultaneously every second. Precision and sensitive handling of the inhomogeneous material are of central importance in this process.

Mechanically, this is an extremely difficult process. High speed, inhomogeneous processing material, and very high precision requirements at the same time.

To achieve this goal, we need a partner where we can be confident that the quality is at the very highest level.
