On 18th October the STIWA training centre in Attnang-Puchheim opened its doors to provide information on the wide range of apprenticeships available within the group. 200 visitors followed the invitation. A total of seven schools with more than 300 students visited the training centre. Once again this year, STIWA trainees presented the apprenticeships on offer. Potential applicants were given guided tours of all areas of the training centre, from design to production.
Excellent apprentice training
One guarantee of the company's success is its own apprentice training. Over the past 45 years, more than 1000 young people have been trained to become top specialists. In 2024, a total of 56 young people will start their high-tech apprenticeships at STIWA in 11 different professions - from mechatronics and IT to design and machining. Trained on state-of-the-art training machines, they can expect to receive top training in the coming years. Individual support, with trainers accompanying them step by step and working on customer projects right from the start, is a key focus of the training. "It is therefore no coincidence that our apprentices are among the best in the whole of Upper Austria and win numerous prizes every year," says STIWA Head of Training Thomas Bartl.
45 years of apprenticeship
"We want to fill up to 40 new apprenticeship places for September 2025," says Thomas Bartl. These include mechatronics, design, industrial clerk and machining. Apprenticeships have been very important at STIWA for 45 years. "Many of our former apprentices are today's managers," says Thomas Bartl. The individual development opportunities are enormous: from technical specialisation to international assignments to taking on management responsibility, all career paths are open.
