Discussion on the topic of everyday racism with Cornelius Obonya

In order to promote an open dialogue with young people on the topic of everyday racism and to show how each of us can make a contribution, the STIWA Group invited the Austrian actor Cornelius Obonya to the company's headquarters in Attnang-Puchheim on 27 September. There he discussed the importance of an open and free society with all apprentices who started their training at STIWA in September and reflected with them on personal experiences and the experiences of young people.

Cornelius Obonya, President of the "Aktion gegen den Antisemitismus in Österreich" (Action against Anti-Semitism in Austria) association, has been working intensively on the issue of racism for many years. Under the motto "Everyday racism - but what can I do?" Cornelius Obonya led a discussion with the trainees of the STIWA Group. He encouraged them to take active steps against prejudice and to share their personal experiences.

In his welcoming address, STIWA CEO Peter Sticht thanked Cornelius Obonya for his willingness to speak on this important topic and thus make an important contribution to promoting a culture of togetherness and equality at STIWA and beyond.

Obonya then allowed the new trainees to share their own experiences and thoughts, encouraging them to actively stand up against prejudice and emphasising that no one has the right to exclude others. The discussion provided a valuable opportunity for young people to ask questions and share their perspectives on this important issue.

With offices on three continents and an international team of employees, the STIWA Group considers equality to be a fundamental corporate value. Diversity and respect are the foundations of a strong community. Racism has no place here.
