Sustainable into the future: STIWA employees participate in company PV modules
With the installation of photovoltaic systems at its sites, the STIWA Group takes another important step towards a CO2-free energy supply and thus towards more sustainability. The company offers all employees the opportunity to participate in individual PV modules at attractive conditions. More than 850 modules have already been purchased in the first few days.
"Sustainability is a core corporate value and is clearly anchored in our corporate strategy. With the realization of the photovoltaic system, we are making a further contribution to climate protection and the expansion of renewable energies," says Peter Sticht, Managing Director of STIWA Holding. The 814 kWp photovoltaic system in Gampern consists of more than 1,800 collectors and will generate up to 900 MWh of electricity per year. This corresponds to the annual consumption of around 250 single-family homes and saves around 200 tons of CO2 per year.
Win-win situation
With an employee participation model, the company enables all employees to participate in several modules at attractive conditions as part of a sale-and-lease-back model, without having to bear the costs of purchasing and operating the systems themselves. Within a few days, more than 850 modules had already been purchased. "In this way, our employees not only benefit from an attractive financial return, but also become active participants in our sustainability strategy and make a valuable contribution to the energy transition," says Sticht.
Numerous energy saving measures
In recent years, numerous energy-saving measures have been implemented at all STIWA sites and investments have been made in the corresponding infrastructure. In Attnang-Puchheim, for example, two gas-fired boilers were removed and the heating requirement is now covered by district heating in a CO2-neutral manner. Group-wide, gas consumption has already been reduced by more than 60%. PV expansion is also continuing: In addition to the photovoltaic system already installed in Gampern, another PV project is currently being implemented at the headquarters in Attnang-Puchheim.
